Severity, status, and the thing it’s about

Every H&S issue has a severity (Low / Medium / High / Critical) and a status (Open / InProgress / PendingReview / Resolved / Closed). An issue can be attached to a venue, a store or a display so you can see everything tied to a particular site or show in one place.

Issue-types act as templates — you can flag a type as requiring a phone call or a photo so that operators logging an issue of that type know what evidence to capture. Crew can raise their own issues from the field through the crew portal, so a problem spotted at teardown gets logged at teardown, not remembered on Monday. The pre-show and post-show checklists hand off here too — anything flagged during the checks becomes an issue with the show already linked.

Reviews

Scheduled reviews with a result

Reviews are scheduled records with a date, status and result. Use them for recurring magazine checks, equipment inspections, venue walkdowns — anything that needs to happen on a cadence and produce an outcome.

Review-types let you predefine the template once and reuse it, and open issues can be attached to a review — so the annual risk-assessment review walks through exactly the problems raised since the last one.

Fire severity & weather

The Fire Severity Index, archived and on every show

PyroPortal captures the Met Office Fire Severity Index (published by Natural England for England & Wales) every day and keeps its own archive — today plus the five-day outlook across every 10 km grid square. The source overwrites itself each morning; we don’t.

Venues resolve to their square automatically, so every venue and every display shows its fire-severity outlook, with a full-country map you can search by address. Site weather (rain, temperature, wind with a compass) sits alongside it on the display’s Weather tab — the drought-summer conversation with a landowner starts from data, not vibes.

Common questions

What exactly is tracked today?
Two record types: Issues (with severity Low / Medium / High / Critical and status Open → InProgress → PendingReview → Resolved → Closed) and Reviews (scheduled-date based, with status and result). Both can be linked to a venue, store or display.
Do you provide template risk assessments and method statements?
Issue-types and review-types act as templates with flags (e.g. requiresCall, requiresPhoto). A full risk-assessment + method-statement document system with master-template inheritance and digital sign-off is on the roadmap.
Are documents digitally signed and locked?
Not today. Issues and reviews are recorded against a user (createdBy) with timestamps, but PDF document signing + locking + audit log are roadmap items.
